May 30, 2011 Schoolchildren and teachers of Gorayq village discussed the benefits and risks the Internet can bring in their lives. The workshop on e-Safety was organized by Media Education Center in a distant village of Armenia’s southern province of Syunik in frames of the Kinderwall project of the Armenian Project Management Association. The pilot project is implemented by the APMA in partnership with VivaCell-MTS, Geoteam, Deem Communications and Media Education Center.

7 to 15-year-old school children discussed privacy and security issues they come across while using chat rooms and social networks.

Schoolchildren learnt about Internet-related risks, such as fishing, Internet fraud and identity theft. By playing on-line games they learnt how to stay safe and secure on-line. Teachers were provided with the electronic collection of educational resources of Media Education Center and all participants received interactive CDs with teaching games.

In frames of the Kinderwall project children will be provided with free access to 2 computer terminals with Internet connection and their on-line activities will be studied.
